Eternal Student
Staying in the seat of the student keeps the body & mind elastic. We stay curious, questioning, and open to the mystery of the universe.
I take my role as a student seriously.
I have had a love for books, studying & learning for as long as I can remember.
When I was a child I once said to my mom, “I don’t really need friends, I have my books.”
I remember staying up late into the night with my reading lamp clipped to the bedpost, devouring any book I could get my hands on.
My first teacher was the forest.
I would create potions in the woods growing up in rural New England. I distinctly remember the scent of the skunk cabbage, the texture of the birch bark and bright color of lady slippers. They all spoke to me in their whispers.
Next, I took art classes. My mom would shuttle me around as early as 6 or 8 years old to art teachers. She still has the pictures I produced.
Later, around 13, consciousness became my teacher. I learned to meditate and expand my mind, reaching the edges of my existence and finding the fear of going too far.
At 18, I began the practice and study of yoga in earnest. I had a yoga DVD that I would pop in at 6am every morning. Over time, I found classes, workshops, and allowed this love to bloom.
As an adult, I earned a BA in English Literature before I commenced my healing studies.
Throughout my 20’s, I completed three yoga teacher trainings, earned an Ayurveda certificate, became a ThetaHealer, a doula, a flower essence practitioner, permaculture designer, and began to study plant medicine more seriously.
In my 30’s, I earned a Master's Degree in therapy and began the practice of psychedelic medicine.
Now, I am deeply rooted in my esoteric studies. Tarot, dreams, and symbols are my teachers. Divination speaks of unknown worlds through sound and pictures. I see runes in my watercolors and read the present in my cards.
Many teachers have crossed my path, to all of whom I bow in deep gratitude.
My morning practice now includes a ritual of meditation, pulling cards, reading, visioning, remembering my dreams, pulling more cards, drinking tea and sitting quietly — allowing information to flow through me.
All of these learnings are practices are woven into our ThetaSoma Trainings. Our intention is to support you to wake up to magic you already are.
Our work together is a journey through the collective subconscious, interpreting symbols and unpacking memories.
Each time I teach a class, I become a student again. I open to the wisdom of each of our trainees. Every time we meet, I learn something new that adds to the tapestry of understanding I am weaving.
